Obstetrician Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist

BA (Hons1) MBBS FRANZCOG MReproMed

Tim relocated to Hobart in 2022 from Queensland where he completed his Obstetrics & Gynaecology training, predominantly in large tertiary hospitals. He undertook advanced training in endometriosis surgery, fertility and urogynaecology and completed an additional specialised urogynaecology fellowship year.

He has a wealth of experience in managing pelvic floor disorders, such as prolapse and urinary incontinence, and works closely with physiotherapists to achieve the best surgical and non-surgical outcomes for patients.

Tim is regarded by his patients as kind, compassionate, informative and accessible. His expertise encompasses a diverse range of gynaecological concerns, including endometriosis, pelvic pain, PCOS, colposcopy, fibroids, ovarian cysts, menopause and menstrual disorders. Tim has completed a Masters of Reproductive Medicine (University of NSW) and is a fertility specialist at TasIVF.

Tim also has a keen interest in education and training and is the lead consultant for education in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at the Royal Hobart Hospital. During his time in Queensland, Tim served as the Trainee Representative for RANZCOG (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) for two years and continues to be an active member on various college committees.

Tim has decided to focus his private practice in gynaecology and fertility and regularly performs hysterectomies and other advanced laparoscopic, abdominal, hysteroscopic and vaginal surgery with theatre lists at Calvary Lenah Valley, St John’s and Hobart Private Hospital. Tim prides himself on keeping up-to-date with new research, treatments and innovative surgical techniques. He is the first surgeon in Tasmania to offer vNOTES (Vaginal Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery), which allows complex surgery to be performed without visible incisions with faster recovery and quicker return to normal activities. Tim has presented clinical research in urogynaecology and fertility at national and international scientific meetings.

When he is not working, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife, two young boys and cocker spaniel, enjoying the outdoor Tassie lifestyle. Tim’s other interests include live music, theatre, sport, politics and travel.
