Tania is a Specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologist with interests in normal and high risk obstetrics, vaginal surgery and ultrasound. She is known for her warm nature, generous heart and exceptional clinical skills. 

Tania achieved her medical degree with first class honours (MBBS Hons.) from the University of Tasmania (UTAS) in 1998, receiving the University Medal for the highest graduating student. Her initial obstetrics and gynaecology training was at the Royal Hobart Hospital, followed by three years in Melbourne. During her training at The Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne, Tania developed a special interest in high-risk and complex pregnancies, with advanced experience in maternal-fetal medicine and ultrasound. She then completed her gynaecology training in North Western Tasmania, where she continued to build her interest and skills in vaginal surgery. Tania obtained her specialist qualification (FRANZCOG) in 2009. 

Tania has spent extended periods of time working as a specialist on the Tasmanian North-West Coast (2009-2014), before settling in Hobart. During that time she established and conducted a Diabetes in Pregnancy service and High Risk Obstetric service, while maintaining her gynaecology practice. The establishment of these services saw Tania become well regarded in the field, and impart significant improvements in perinatal care in the North West. 

Tania was responsible for developing and delivering the obstetrics and gynaecology curriculum for the UTAS medical students in Burnie from 2009-2014, and she continues her role in educating the doctors of tomorrow, currently working closely with UTAS medical students for elective and selective posts. She is actively involved in RANZCOG activities, and has previously held the role of RANZCOG Tasmanian Training and Accreditation Committee Chair and RANZCOG representative for the Tasmanian Council of Obstetric & Perinatal Morbidity & Mortality. 

Tania is married to Dr Jarrad Wilson, also a Tasmanian medical graduate. They have two amazing children, James and Evie. When she’s not working, Tania enjoys spending time with her family, reading and cooking and of course tending to her continually expanding plant collection!
