Dr Kate Mitchell is a specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with interests in normal and high-risk obstetrics, pre-pregnancy care, general gynaecology, menopause management, abnormal pap smears (cervical screening) and colposcopy. She is a friendly approachable clinician who quickly develops a therapeutic relationship with her patients. 

Kate completed her undergraduate training with a Bachelor of Health Science (Public Health and Pathology) at the University of Western Australia. Kate progressed to gaining her medical degree at Notre Dame Fremantle and describes always having a strong interest in women’s health and healthcare. 

Kate gained Obstetric and Gynaecology experience at King Edward Memorial Hospital, WA and the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne, before moving to Tasmania and completing the remainder of her specialist education. Whilst here, Kate met her husband Dave, and since then has been a committed Tasmanian! Kate undertook further training in advanced pelvic surgery (gynaecological oncology fellow 2019), ultrasound and fertility at the Royal Hobart Hospital, and attained her FRANZCOG in 2020. Kate continues to hold a VMO position at the Royal Hobart Hospital, and provides private care at Hobart Private Hospital and Calvary Healthcare, Lenah Valley. 

Outside of her work commitments Kate enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young daughters, Anna and Millie. She takes pleasure in reading and cooking and makes the most of her opportunities to get back to sunny Western Australia to visit family and friends.
